Deaflympic - "The Summer and Winter Deaflympics are among the world's fastest growing sports events. More than 3,300 deaf athletes and officials from 74 nations participated in the 20th Summer Deaflympics in Melbourne, Australia, in January 2005.

Nearly 600 athletes and officials participated in the 16th Winter Deaflympics in Salt Lake City, United States in February 2007".

21st Deaflympic - Taipei, Taiwan 2009 - "The first Winter Deaflympics was held in Seefeld, Austria in 1949, where 33 athletes from 5 countries participated in, and 253 athletes from 22 countries participated in the 15th Winter Deaflympics in Sundsvall, Sweden in 2003.

International Deaf Basketball - "Deaf International Basketball Federation (DIBF) is a world governing body for international deaf basketball in cooperation with the Deaflympics and its confederations. DIBF shall be an independent association composed of the National Organisations governing deaf basketball".

USA Deaf Sports - "The Akron Club of the Deaf in Ohio sponsored the first national basketball tournament in 1945, at which time it established the American Athletic Union of the Deaf. The organization was later renamed the American Athletic Association of the Deaf, and in 1997, the USA Deaf Sports Federation (USADSF)".
